A pensioner rebate of $196.55 is applicable to the electricity account of eligible customers in residential home parks and other similar multi-tenanted residential premises provided the following conditions are met:
The property owner or operator of the multi-tenanted residential premises must:
Supply electricity to each of the separately identifiable vans, flats or home units or other similar living units at the premises and
Charges for electricity on the basis of metered consumption and
Is claiming the rebate on behalf of eligible persons (pensioners) residing at the premises
Will fully pass on the rebate to the eligible persons by way of a reduction in charges for electricity and
Each separately identifiable living unit for which the rebate is claimed is occupied by persons who, if they had been supplied directly by the Electricity company, would have been eligible for the Pension Rebate and
The rebate is applicable only to eligible persons for the full period of each electricity account being paid and
A rebate application form will be completed by the multi - tenanted property owner or operator on behalf of the tenant.
The rebate is $9.85 (GST exclusive) per accounting month applied against the dollar and cents value of the electricity. In no instance shall the rebate be greater than the account amount.
An example of how the rebate will be applied is as follows: The account rendered to the customer is $110.00 ($100.00 consumption plus GST of $10.00) less the rebate of $10.84 ($9.85 plus GST of $0.99) Therefore after the rebate the account will be for $99.16.
The rebate is calculated on a daily basis and will appear on your electricity account as a separate line item. You must be listed as the current electricity account holder to be eligible.
