From 1 July 2011, the NSW Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) has approved an average 4.6 per cent increase in regulated retail natural gas prices for Country Energy customers in Wagga Wagga, Uranquinty, Tumut, Gundagai, Henty, Holbrook, Temora, Cooma, Bombala, Culcairn and Tamworth.
In regulating retail natural gas prices, IPART has set prices that reflect the costs associated with supplying gas. These include:
- The network charges levied by gas network distributors for the use of the distribution network,- regulated by the Australian Energy Regulator (AER)
- The retail costs of purchasing wholesale natural gas.
Exact dollar increases will vary from customer to customer depending on how much they use their location and the price they pay now.
