what is Cattlecare?

CATTLECARE is a quality assurance program, an initiative of the Cattle Council of Australia, and supported by MEAT & LIVESTOCK AUSTRALIA. The program simply sets out what needs to be done to assure buyers that producers are taking the right steps to supply meat of the quality demanded by today's increasingly critical markets - both here and overseas.

One of the major factors that producers have to address when seeking accreditation is to ensure minimal risk of chemical contamination of stock through the safe, responsible use of chemicals.

why would Country Energy be involved?

Over the years Country Energy and its predecessors have used a range of chemicals for the ground line treatment of power poles and control of vegetation regrowth within easements.

what has Country Energy done?

  1. Developed procedures to minimise the risk of exposing contaminated soil when replacing poles or carrying out ground line pole inspections.
  2. Responded to hundreds of enquires per month from producers, as to what chemicals have been or will be used on their property.
  3. Ensured that all appropriate employees and contractors are trained in the safe and proper use of chemicals.

how can Country Energy help you?

We can provide you with a signed statement indicating which chemicals may have been used on your property in connection with Country Energy's operations. If you wish to obtain this, please contact either a member of the safety and environment team on 13 23 56 or;
