There are two easy ways to help our environment:

1. You can reduce your energy consumption by using energy more efficiently.
2. Become a Country Energy Green customer and purchase some or all of your energy from renewable or green energy sources.

At present, most of our electricity comes from coal-generated power stations.

Unfortunately, electricity from fossil fuels like coal damages the environment by releasing greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. It is also depleting a resource that will eventually disappear from the earth if we don't change the way we create electricity.

Renewable energy accounts for only about 10 per cent of Australia's current energy market and is more expensive to produce than energy generated from fossil fuels.

You can help reduce greenhouse gases by becoming a Country Energy green energy customer. As a green customer, you choose to purchase renewable energy - this helps to stimulate interest and investment in renewable energy generation.
