The Cable Jointer position is fundamental to connecting conductors (lines) to enable supply of electricity to our customers. The duties can vary from field service centre and region.
The type of person that may be attracted to apply for this position is one who likes to engage their mind to work with their hands, and likes being outdoors in various weather conditions. This person would also not have a fear of heights as work often involves working from ladders, poles or elevated work platforms at heights up to 12 metres.
Some duties performed by a cable jointer include:
- Underground construction and maintenance of high and low voltage cables.
- Terminating and jointing of high and low voltage underground cables.
- Fault finding during interruptions to supply.
