We have more than $2 billion invested to maintain and improve network reliability over 2004 - 2009 with plans to invest almost $4 billion over 2009 – 2014 to further strengthen the network. You will work in a dedicated and committed team that provide a service to enable the development to the network to occur.
Who is suited to a career in Network Design?
If you enjoy working in a team environment, interacting with a variety of people, are self motivated and comfortable using computers and measuring equipment, then Network Design might be the job for you. It is a challenging role that requires self motivation.
What are the different roles in Network Design?
Trainee Design Project Officer (Rate of pay from approx $60,000 per annum gross) - Observes and undertakes training and study to gain practical knowledge and skills of the Design Project Officer role.
Candidates for this role should have already completed the Certificate III in Electricity Supply Industry - Transmission Distribution and Rail (ESITDR) or Certificate III in Electrotechnology or similar qualification.
Within this role you will be required to complete the Certificate IV in Power Systems Design which takes approximately two years to complete. You will undertake this course through a Registered Training Organisation by face to face block release training (one week in every eight weeks). You will be a trainee for a period of three years or for the duration of your study. After you complete your traineeship and receive your Certificate IV in Power Systems Design and with satisfactory performance, you will commence your role as a Design Project Officer. Design Project Officer (Rate of pay from approx $64,000 per annum gross) - Draws on field training and experience to produce high quality, practical network designs that enable our network to be extended or augmented. You work in a widely varying environment that ranges from measuring up in the field and negotiating with clients, to using state of the art design technology to produce the network designs.
After you have successfully completed and received your Diploma in Power Systems Design and with a number of years satisfactory performance as a Design Project Officer, you become a qualified Design Project Manager. Download Position Description
Design Project Manager (Rate of pay from approx $72,000 per annum gross) - Responsible for carrying out the client liaison and design work associated with construction projects. These construction projects include connection works for external customers and clients as well as augmentation works and new construction works for Country Energy. You would be the principle project contact for clients and customers requiring distribution connection and augmentation works to be carried out.
After you have successfully completed and received your Advanced Diploma in Power Systems Design and with a number of years satisfactory performance as a Design Project Manager, you become a qualified Senior Design Project Manager. Download Position Description
Senior Design Project Manager (Rate of pay from approx $78,000 per annum gross) - Provide effective delivery of the more complex and specialist activities associated with the Design Project Manager role. The position usually involves detailed knowledge and specialisation in a particular activity and may also invlove the day to day mentoring and guidance of other design staff in a regional location.
