If you purchase renewable energy, the related cost can be found under the Metering and Other Charges heading on page two of your bill. The greenhouse gas graph on page two will also reflect a reduction in emissions thanks to your contribution toward renewable energy.

QLD customers

There are two line items that appear only on QLD customers' bills - the QLD 13% Gas Scheme Fee and the Community Ambulance Levy.

The QLD 13% Gas Scheme Fee relates to a mandatory gas scheme that was introduced by the QLD Government on 1 January 2005. The scheme, which is designed to diversify QLD's energy mix and encourage the use of gas, requires Country Energy to source 13 per cent of our QLD customers' electricity from QLD gas-fired power generators. This fee can be found under the Market Participation heading on page two of your bill.

The Community Ambulance Levy is a compulsory levy collected via electricity accounts for all QLD residents and businesses, excepting those that are eligible for an exemption. This levy, also known as Community Ambulance Cover (CAC), was introduced on 1 July 2003 and replaced the previous voluntary QLD Ambulance Cover (QAS) subscription scheme. This levy can be found under the Metering and Other Charges heading on page two of your bill.
