- Make it a habit to always check for powerlines whenever you use farm machinery like grain augers, harvesters and irrigation pipes.
- Water is a conductor of electricity so be careful when using water irrigation or water jets near powerlines.
- Check all cords and connections of your machinery and workshop equipment and make sure they're in good condition.
- If you're crop dusting, make sure you identify where the powerlines are located in the area.
- Underground powerlines are often buried only 500mm below the surface so be careful when excavating.
- Electrical equipment can be damaged during storms. Don’t operate any equipment if there’s any sign of damage.
